Electrolux
Electrolux was founded in Sweden in 1910 as Elektromekaniska AB, subsequently changing
its name to Elektrolux following a merger with Lux AB in 1919. Today the Electrolux name is just one
brand name in the Electrolux Group - a manufacturing group which sells over 40 million products in 150 countries
each year. Along with the Whirlpool Corporation, the Electrolux Group is one of the world's largest
domestic appliance manufacturers. It produces a full range of household appliances including fridges,
freezers, dishwashers, washing machines and cookers. Other brands within the group include AEG,
Zanussi, Frigidaire and Tricity Bendix. Electrolux bases its product design and development processes
in the Scandinavian design tradition.
