Indesit

Indesit was founded in Italy in 1930. Originally it was known as Industrie Merloni and manufactured weighing scales. However, it diversified and started to sell home appliances under the brand name Ariston. It eventually acquired its main competitor, Indesit, in 1985. Indesit is currently Europe’s 2nd and the world’s 5th largest manufacturer of household appliances. In addition to Ariston, the Indesit Company also owns the brands of Cannon, Creda and Hotpoint.
