Surely anything that reduces ironing times is a good thing and so it's proved with the 7000 Series of laundry appliances from AEG.
Few of us relish being stuck wrestling with creases, for what feels like hours on end, and it can be difficult to guard against this.
No matter what cycle is at play, the reality is that most won't leave your clothes in a fit enough state to directly wear.
Perhaps there will always be the need for ironing and a few minutes, here and there, we can all just about live with, but the less of it, the better.
Step forward the 7000 Series by AEG. Their washing machines can cut creases by a third, through the introduction of steam.
Steam cleaning relaxes the fibres in clothes, thereby giving them fewer chances to wrinkle. Deep-down dirt, stains and odours are also tackled.
Releasing steam into the drum raises the temperature and absorbs more water, creating a vapour that gives an added edge to the washing process.
There's a dedicated steam programme which can be used for dried, washed or worn once laundry, with no detergent required.
The Plus Steam button can combine with other cycles, by simply latching on to the end of the programme. The drum keeps the load moving, while the steam works its magic.
Of course, steam cleaning is not the only strength that AEG's 7000 Series has. ProSense load detection is another useful tool of the AEG 7000 series.
Built-in sensors act as scales. The weight is accurately shown on the digital display and automatic adjustments can be made to both a cycle's length and its water / electricity usage.
Detergent dispensing is meticulously done in Soft Plus mode, which optimises distribution to improve fabric integrity and which maximises the effect of the powder and liquid.
This technology has been handed certification by cleaning giants Ariel and Lenor and you can see evidence of this certification on the front of every machine.
The other badge on the front of every machine is a Wool Hand Wash Care blue emblem, so items with 'hand wash' in their care instructions are safe to be handled by the wool-silk cycle.
