Our Delivery Service

At Marks Electrical, we use our own fleet of vehicles to deliver goods throughout most of England and some of Wales.

  • Standard deliveries for orders of £200 or more are free.
  • For all orders of small items and hobs up to £600, there is a £6.99 delivery charge using the courier company DPD.
  • There is a £19.99 delivery charge for any orders of less than £200, unless your order is delivered to an LE postcode.
  • If your order is in stock, we may be able offer you next day delivery. This usually incurs a charge of £4.99.
  • For larger items like range cookers, we recommend our two man delivery service for £29.99
  • There are a handful of postcodes we don't deliver to - mostly rural or outlying areas.
  • We do not deliver to Northern Ireland & Scotland at this time.

Our Delivery Types

  • Standard Delivery

    Standard Delivery is available on all products, whether they're in or out of stock. Just enter your postcode on a product page or at the checkout and you will be given a choice of dates.

  • Two Man Delivery

    Our £29.99 Two Man Delivery service should be used for large items, as we won't enter your property without this provision in place, unless it's a garage without steps. With a two man delivery, we will deliver the item inside your home, unwrap your product, remove all of the packaging and then take it with us to be recycled.

  • Next Day Delivery

    Next Day Delivery, for an extra surcharge of only £4.99, applies to products which are in stock only. You'll need to order before 4pm the day before to access this service. Enter your postcode into the postcode checker on a product page and if the option is available, you'll be given it. Due to high volumes of sales, we may not currently be able to offer next day delivery to all areas.

  • Weekend Delivery

    Not free during the week? We deliver on Saturday and Sunday. Just enter your postcode into any postcode checker on a product page to see if the option is available to you.

  • Click and Collect

    If you need an item straight away, you can take advantage of our Click and Collect service and pick the item up yourself direct from the Marks Electrical showroom. Please refer to our Click and Collect page for more details.

Our Fleet of Delivery Vehicles

To keep our prices as competitive as possible, our standard deliveries are made by one man only. Our driver will wheel your product into an unobstructed ground floor room of your choice. As a result we only offer our standard delivery service to ground floor properties and blocks of flats with a lift (providing the appliance will fit). Our ground floor deliveries can include a maximum of 4 steps. Please call us if this affects your order as undelivered products caused by this problem will incur a redelivery charge. Please refer to our Delivery Guide for a list of additional factors you need to consider when arranging delivery.

If your delivery is not to an unobstructed ground floor area, then we can provide a two-man delivery service, but at a premium of £29.99. For a general guide on the kind of delivery you will need, please refer to the table below. If you are still unsure then feel free to call us on 0116 2 514 513.

Non-Billing Address Deliveries

When you request delivery to an address other than your billing address we may undertake additional security checks on your payment before accepting the order. This is part of our standard security procedure to help protect you against fraudulent misuse of your credit/debit card details. In some circumstances this may result in your order being delayed, therefore if possible we suggest that you arrange delivery to the billing address instead.

Arranging a Delivery Date

Items which we hold in stock will usually be delivered to you within a few working days - often the following day. You will be able to choose your delivery date just before you pay for your order.

Items which we have to order from the manufacturer will take longer to deliver; typically 6-12 working days depending on the particular product. You can track your order status on our website; when the Track Order page shows your items are in stock please call us to arrange delivery, otherwise we will send you an email/SMS when your items are ready for delivery.

Delivery Times

Our standard deliveries are made between the hours of 7am and 6pm, 7 days a week. A signature will be required upon delivery.

Delivery Timeslots

You will be notified of your estimated delivery timeslot by SMS between 7pm and 8pm the day before delivery. As we operate a rapid next day delivery service, we will be unable to notify you of your timeslot any earlier than this because our automated route planning system will be planning the delivery routes up until this time. This means that you cannot choose/change your delivery timeslot.

Please ensure that you are available all day on the date you select. The majority of our deliveries arrive within or before the estimated timeslot but we can't control the traffic so there may be unavoidable delays. If you find you cannot keep to your chosen delivery date you must notify us before 12 noon one working day before otherwise failed delivery or redelivery charges will apply (see below).

Installation Timeslots

If you have selected our integrated installation service, our installation team will call you before 10am on the day the work is to be carried out with an estimated arrival time.

Failed Delivery Charges

Where a pre-arranged agreed day has been given for delivery and we are prevented from delivering the goods due to there being no one at the address, or we are unable to make the delivery for other reasons such as those mentioned above, you may be liable to pay a failed delivery charge. This also applies if you cancel a delivery after the goods have been loaded onto the van for delivery to you. Details of failed delivery charges are set out in our Terms and Conditions.

Old Product Collection

For a fee of £19.99 we can remove your old appliance when we deliver your new one. The old appliance must be disconnected and outside your property at time of delivery.
