Our Delivery Service

At Marks Electrical, we use our own fleet of vehicles to deliver goods throughout most of England and some of Wales.

  • Standard deliveries for orders of £200 or more are free.
  • For all orders of small items, there is a £6.99 delivery charge using the courier company DPD.
  • There is a £19.99 delivery charge for any orders of less than £200, unless your order is delivered to an LE postcode.
  • If your order is in stock, we may be able offer you next day delivery. This is usually free of charge.
  • For larger items like range cookers, we recommend our two man delivery service for £29.99
  • There are a handful of postcodes we don't deliver to - mostly rural or outlying areas.
  • We do not deliver to Northern Ireland & Scotland at this time.

Coronavirus and your order

Are you still offering Installation Services?

Yes. We're taking a sensible approach to the evolving situation with Coronavirus by following all Government advice to make sure we can continue to serve our customers and protect our people.

However, due to the current situation around Coronavirus we are having to adapt the service we can provide. Therefore, if you are self-isolating we won't be able to enter your house to carry out any installation services and will have to leave it on your doorstep. If this is the case, but you would rather we install the item, you can rebook the delivery for a later date.

Will you bring the product into my home?

Yes. We're taking a sensible approach to the evolving situation with Coronavirus by following all Government advice to make sure we can continue to serve our customers and protect our people.

However, due to the current situation around Coronavirus we are having to adapt the service we can provide. Therefore, If you are self-isolating we won't be able to enter your house so we will have to perform a doorstep delivery. If this is the case, but you would rather we deliver to a room of your choice, you can rebook the delivery for a later date

What precautions are your delivery drivers taking to ensure I don't get Coronavirus?

Our drivers have been issued with disinfectant wipes to keep their vans clean and virus free, Drivers will also be wearing disposable gloves. If a driver asks to wash their hands in your home we would appreciate if you could help them out.

Can your driver refuse to come into my house and install my product?

Keeping our people and customers healthy and safe is a top priority so there may be an occasion where a driver does not feel comfortable entering your home. If this does occur you can agree to a doorstep delivery or re-book the delivery through our customer service team.

What happens if I book a delivery and start to feel unwell or I'm told to self-isolate?

You should rebook your delivery by contacting us on 01162515515 and talk to one of our team. You might decide to re-arrange your delivery or we can deliver to your doorstep, but we won't be able to offer the full range of services, including installation. See below if you are self-isolating.

I'm not self-isolating but I'm feeling a bit unwell - can I still order from you?

We are sorry to hear that you are feeling unwell. We can still deliver but we will need to take a number of precautions as if you are self-isolating, please see below. However you might want to think about arranging your delivery for a few weeks' time when you are feeling better.

I'm self-isolating - will you still deliver?

We are sorry to hear you have had to self-isolate. We can still deliver but we will need to take a number of precautions.

We won't be able to enter your home so unfortunately we won't be able to undertake any installation work. We will have to perform a doorstep delivery. You will not have to sign for delivery, instead we will take pictures of your delivery on the doorstep, helping to reduce any unnecessary contact. You might want to think about arranging your delivery for a few weeks' time when you are out of self-isolation (we recommend 2 weeks) when we can give you our excellent customer service.

If my product was delivered but it's got a fault, will you come and uninstall it/collect it?

We're sorry that you have a fault with your product. We're taking a sensible approach to the evolving situation with Coronavirus by following all Government advice to make sure we can continue to serve our customers and protect our people. If the product has just been delivered or you've had it a while and it has developed a fault we will follow our normal procedures unless you are self-isolating. These are difficult times and If you are self-isolating we won't be able to enter your house to uninstall or collect your product.

I want to exchange my product - will the coronavirus affect this?

It's business as usual unless you are self-isolating, in which case, as long as the item is unused, you have 100 days in which to return the product so we would ask you to hang on for a bit until you are no longer at-risk and out of isolation.

Can I cancel my product now it's already in my home?

It's business as usual unless you are self-isolating, in which case we won't collect from you but our standard returns policy still applies. Please contact us when you are out of self-isolation and we will sort it all out for you.

Our Delivery Types

  • Standard Delivery

    Standard Delivery is available on all products, whether they're in or out of stock. Just enter your postcode on a product page or at the checkout and you will be given a choice of dates.

  • Two Man Delivery

    Our £29.99 Two Man Delivery service should be used for large items, as we won't enter your property without this provision in place, unless it's a garage without steps. With a two man delivery, we will deliver the item inside your home, unwrap your product, remove all of the packaging and then take it with us to be recycled.

  • Next Day Delivery

    Next Day Delivery applies to products which are in stock only. You'll need to order before 4pm the day before to access this service. Enter your postcode into the postcode checker on a product page and if the option is available, you'll be given it.

  • Weekend Delivery

    Not free during the week? We deliver on Saturday and Sunday. Just enter your postcode into any postcode checker on a product page to see if the option is available to you.

  • Click and Collect

    If you need an item straight away, you can take advantage of our Click and Collect service and pick the item up yourself direct from the Marks Electrical showroom. Please refer to our Click and Collect page for more details.

  • Installation

    We offer installation services for integrated applicances to most of England and Wales through specially selected partner companies.

Our Fleet of Delivery Vehicles

We deliver between 7am and 7pm and someone must be at the delivery address to accept, sign for, and inspect the goods when we arrive. To keep our prices as competitive as possible, our standard deliveries are made by one man only. Our driver will wheel your product into an unobstructed ground floor room of your choice. As a result, we only offer our standard delivery service to ground floor properties and blocks of flats with a lift (providing the appliance will fit). Our ground floor deliveries can include a maximum of 4 steps. Please call us if this affects your order as undelivered products caused by this problem will incur a redelivery charge. Please refer to our Delivery Guide for a list of additional factors you need to consider when arranging delivery.

If your delivery is not to an unobstructed ground floor area, then we can provide a two-man delivery service, but at a premium of £29.99. For a general guide on the kind of delivery you will need, please refer to the table below. If you are still unsure then feel free to call us on 0116 2 514 513.

Non-Billing Address Deliveries

When you request delivery to an address other than your billing address, we may undertake additional security checks on your payment before accepting the order. This is part of our standard security procedure to help protect you against fraudulent misuse of your credit/debit card details. In some circumstances this may result in your order being delayed, therefore if possible, we suggest that you arrange delivery to the billing address instead.

Arranging a Delivery Date

Items which we hold in stock will usually be delivered to you within a few working days - often the following day. You will be able to choose your delivery date just before you pay for your order.

Items which we have to order from the manufacturer will take longer to deliver; typically, 6-12 working days depending on the particular product. You can track your order status on our website; when the Track Order page shows your items are in stock please call us to arrange delivery, otherwise we will send you an email/SMS when your items are ready for delivery.

Delivery Times

Our standard deliveries are made between the hours of 7am and 7pm, 7 days a week. A signature will be required upon delivery.

Delivery Timeslots

You will be notified of your estimated delivery timeslot by SMS between 7pm and 8pm the day before delivery. As we operate a rapid next day delivery service, we will be unable to notify you of your timeslot any earlier than this because our automated route planning system will be planning the delivery routes up until this time. This means that you cannot choose/change your delivery timeslot.

Please ensure that you are available all day on the date you select. The majority of our deliveries arrive within or before the estimated timeslot but we can't control the traffic so there may be unavoidable delays. If you find you cannot keep to your chosen delivery date you must notify us before 12 noon one working day before otherwise failed delivery or redelivery charges will apply (see below).

Old Product Collection

For a fee of £19.99 we can remove your old appliance when we deliver your new one. The old appliance must be disconnected and outside your property at time of delivery.

Failed Delivery Charges

Where a pre-arranged agreed day has been given for delivery and we are prevented from delivering the goods due to there being no one at the address, or we are unable to make the delivery for other reasons such as those mentioned above, you may be liable to pay a failed delivery charge. This also applies if you cancel a delivery after the goods have been loaded onto the van for delivery to you. Details of failed delivery charges are set out in our Terms and Conditions.
