Design and Development

The Arete range was developed over five years by Meaco's British design team, incorporating feedback from more than 2,000 customers. Named after Arete, the Greek Goddess of Excellence, this dehumidifier combines meticulous attention to detail with stylish design. It features hidden castors and sits neatly against the wall, making it an attractive addition to any room.

Quiet Operation at 40dB

After 18 months of testing focused on both noise level and sound quality, Meaco created its quietest large dehumidifier range. At 40dB, the Arete One is twice as quiet as the industry standard, making it ideal for bedrooms and other noise-sensitive spaces.

Night Mode

Arete's unique Night Mode turns off all lights, reduces fan speed to low, and eliminates beeps for completely silent operation. You can quickly and quietly check humidity levels in this mode. It requires two confirming touches to exit Night Mode, preventing accidental activation. Night Mode can be used any time you want the dehumidifier to run as quietly as possible.

Simple, Intuitive Controls

The control panel features clearly laid out controls with larger buttons for frequently used functions and smaller buttons for rarely used ones. Smart Humidity Control and Smart Laundry mode can each be activated with a single button press.

Smart Laundry Mode

The Arete can effectively dry laundry using dehumidification, offering a cheaper and safer alternative to tumble dryers that is gentler on delicate fabrics. Drying clothes this way also prevents damp from causing mould and condensation issues around the home. For best results, use a clothes horse placed next to the dehumidifier, or for faster drying, place both in as small a room as possible with the door and windows closed. Smart Laundry mode runs for 6 hours using the minimum amount of electricity needed to complete the job.

Medical-Grade H13 HEPA Filter

Every Arete One comes with a medical-grade H13 HEPA filter that can be used to clean the air during dehumidification or as a stand-alone air purifier throughout the spring and summer months, maintaining a clean and healthy living environment year-round.

Continuous Drainage Option

The Arete includes a hose adapter that allows you to use any standard garden hose for continuous drainage, giving you flexibility in how you use the unit while reducing plastic waste.
