Virtual Surround Sound Technology
Thanks to Sony's virtual surround technology, the soundbar can position sound in vertical space, so you can experience three-dimensional audio without the need for in-ceiling or up-firing speakers. As well as Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X®, Vertical Surround Engine lends a more realistic, multi-dimensional sound to other formats too.
Digital Surround Sound Field Processing
Using front speakers only, Sony's unique digital sound field processing technology virtually reproduces the surround sound field, with audio coming at you from both sides. You can enjoy rich, cinematic surround sound without cluttering your living space.
Upmixer for Stereo and Surround Content
With Sony's newly developed upmixer, you can experience three-dimensional surround sound not only with surround sound format content, but also with stereo content, like streaming video or music services. Analysing the track in real time, the algorithm extracts individual sound objects and reallocates them, giving you three-dimensional surround sound.
Speaker Configuration and Design
The powerful speakers include a dedicated centre speaker for clear dialogue and built-in dual subwoofer for punchy bass. The built-in dual subwoofer and front speakers feature an X-Balanced Speaker design, with a unique rectangular shape that maximises the diaphragm area for more punchy bass. This design also reduces driver excursion while maintaining sound pressure, resulting in less distortion and greater vocal clarity. The built-in subwoofers use this X-Balanced Speaker design to maximise diaphragm size in the limited space, delivering powerful bass from a compact soundbar. The unique duct shape is the secret to delivering the deep bass normally associated with larger speakers, especially when listening at low volume.
Signal Processing for Clear Sound
Using a single speaker unit to reproduce a wide frequency range from bass to treble simultaneously can cause distortion and result in a muffled and unclear sound image. Sony's unique signal processing technology suppresses distortion and secures clear dialogue and precise imaging. When compact speakers reproduce low bass frequencies there's often a risk of distortion. The HT-S2000 soundbar uses Sony's unique signal processing technology to deliver dynamic extended bass no matter how loud you listen.
Digital Sound Enhancement Engine
When an original music source is compressed, it loses the high-frequency elements that give detail and richness to a track. The Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) faithfully restores these to produce high-quality sound that's closer to the original recording.
Easy Setup
The soundbar is almost ready to go straight out of the box. Simply connect your TV with an HDMI cable and plug in.
Sony Home Entertainment Connect App
Setting up and using your soundbar is easier than ever with the Sony Home Entertainment Connect app. It can guide you through initial settings, assist with troubleshooting, and give you full control of volume, sound field and more right from your smartphone.
Remote Control
A simple remote control combines a pleasing, hand-fit design with easy, intuitive operation. Convenient features include dedicated buttons for adjusting the volume and sound settings. Press the Sound Field button on your remote to enjoy atmospheric surround that puts you right at the heart of the action for immersive movies, or turn Sound Field off for pure speaker sound when listening to stereo music.
Expandable System
Adding an optional wireless subwoofer allows the system to reproduce sound with greater impact and power than before. To take your home cinema experience to a new level, add wireless rear speakers for wider surround sound.
BRAVIA TV Integration
With an integrated User Interface (UI), the soundbar sound settings automatically appear on the BRAVIA Quick Settings menu for easy control of features like Sound Field and volume. Note: Integrated UI works with compatible models. If you have a BRAVIA with a multi-position stand, you can change the position of the TV stand and fit the HT-S2000 discreetly beneath the TV for a clean, elegant look.
Bluetooth Connectivity
Stream audio content wirelessly from your smartphone, tablet or laptop with Bluetooth® technology. Enjoy music, radio, audiobooks, podcasts, and any audio content with your Bluetooth® compatible devices.
Sustainable Design
Sony's home audio products are designed not only for excellent sound experiences but also with the environment in mind. The HT-S2000 uses specially developed recycled plastic in several parts of the product to enable superb acoustic performance while reducing ecological impact. Approximately 95 percent of the packaging is made from recycled paper and paper-based materials to minimise the use of virgin plastic.
