Capacity and Programmes
The WDI14C7-2 features a 7kg washing drum and 4kg drying capacity, suitable for medium households. It offers 15 washing programmes and 3 drying programmes to suit different fabric types and washing needs. An intensive cycle is available for tackling stubborn stains, and a dedicated cleaning programme helps maintain the performance of the washer-dryer.
Key Features and Controls
The machine includes an LED electronic display, a maximum spin speed of 1400 rpm, and a delay timer that can be set from 1 to 24 hours to run programmes at a convenient time or to take advantage of off-peak energy periods. A child lock on the control panel provides added safety.
Automatic Load Balancing
The automatic load balancing system adjusts water usage according to the weight of the load, saving energy and water consumption. If an unbalanced load is detected, the spin speed is automatically adjusted to prevent damage, noise and vibration.
Water Leak Protection
The machine features a full anti-flood device that prevents accidental water leakage. The Acqua Stop system detects anomalies and immediately shuts off the water supply in the event of a leak, avoiding flooding and damage to the appliance or home while reducing water and energy consumption.
Autoclean System
Smeg's patented Autoclean system prevents lint and grime buildup by cleaning the ducts from fabric threads. The device automatically signals when cleaning is needed, keeping both the machine and clothes in top condition and extending the life of the washer-dryer.
Energy Rating
Energy rating bands have been re-scaled to a simple A-G scale with no plusses. This product would have been rated B on the previous energy rating scale. Although re-scaled, the product remains just as energy efficient.

Like most modern washer dryers, this one is cold fill only. Some older washer dryers also have a hot water intake, but in reality, little hot water ever gets into these machines on most washes. This is because hot water cools rapidly in household water pipes, and by the time it starts to run hot the washing machine has almost finished filling. This is particularly true nowadays because modern washing machines use a lot less water than ever before.
