Hoover
Hoover originally started out as a floorcare manufacturer in Ohio, USA in 1908.
It established itself in the UK in 1919, and in 1993 Hoover UK/Europe split from the American
corporation; it is presently owned by the Italian manufacturer Candy. Although Hoover's
dominance of the floor-cleaning market made the brand name synonymous with the vacuum cleaner,
Hoover's product range now includes dishwashers, range cookers, fridge freezers, washing machines
and dryers.
