Extraction or Recirculation?

This cooker hood can either be set to extraction or recirculation mode.

Extraction is usually the most desired option. Steam and odours will be completely pulled from the room and are vented outside to provide the cleanest kitchen possible. However, this method does require the installation of a ducting kit which isn’t always possible depending on the layout of the kitchen.

Recirculation relies on charcoal filters to draw in and then filter out bad smells. Once it’s been filtered, the air is redistributed back into the kitchen. These charcoal filters cannot be washed and will need to be replaced every few months.
